We start the tour in Bucharest from your hotel, driving through some of the most important boulevards of the city. The first stop will let you discover MUZEUL NAȚIONAL AL SATULUI „Dimitrie Gusti” – The Village Museum, an ethnographic open air museum that has traditional houses from all over Romania. In just one hour you will visit the entire country without leaving the capital. Continuing our tour we will get to the Revolution Square and find out all about the Revolution in 1989. On our drive to the Old Town you will see the beautiful buildings from the 19th century and hear more about Bucharest history.
At your own pace we will walk through the Old Town, discover the important landmarks like the National Bank, traditional inns, the Old Princely Court and a lovely old monastery, Stavropoleos Monastery. After lunch we will move to the communist area of the city, where you can discover The Palace of the Parliament and all the legends and stories about real life in communism.
| Day 1 | We start the tour in Bucharest from your hotel, driving through some of the most important boulevards of the city. The first stop will let you discover MUZEUL NAȚIONAL AL SATULUI „Dimitrie Gusti” – The Village Museum, an ethnographic open air museum that has traditional houses from all over Romania. Each romanian area is represented în the museum, so, in just one hour, you will get an idea about the entire country without leaving the city. Continuing our tour we will drive trough one of the most interesting areas of Bucharest, the famous Calea Victoriei (Victory Road) and surroundings. We stop at the Revolution Square where you will find out all about the anticommunist Revolution in 1989. On our short drive to the Old Town you will see the beautiful buildings from the 19th century and hear more about Bucharest history. At your own pace we will walk through the Old Town, discover the important landmarks like the National Bank, traditional inns, the Old Princely Court and a lovely old monastery, Stavropoleos Monastery. We will talk more about the modernization of Romania, starting with the middle of the 19th century. After lunch we will move to the communist area of the city, where you can discover The Palace of the Parliament and all the legends and stories about real life in communism. We will see what is behind the apartment buildings on the main boulevard and how the old historic city survived. |
